Burtonport to Letterkenny Greenway
Introduction
Donegal County Council, with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, is developing proposals for the Burtonport to Letterkenny Greenway project.
The project aims to provide an attractive trail between the settlements of Letterkenny and Burtonport in County Donegal, mainly to be used for recreational purposes by pedestrians, cyclists and people with impaired mobility. Delivery of such a greenway would not only provide a great recreational facility and social support for local communities, but also draw domestic and international visitors to the area benefitting the social and economic factors in the settlements located along the selected route. It will also act as a valuable corridor providing a safe, sustainable and healthy modal option for all users.
The first non-statutory public consultation for the Burtonport to Letterkenny Greenway project is now closed.
The Project Team would like to thank the public for their participation. We are currently in the process of completing our Feasibility Report for the project in advance of the second non-statutory public consultation which will take place later this year.
